The legendary festival of ethno and world-music "Solstice" comes back
On December 22, the day of Winter solstice which was celebrated anyway by almost all peoples of the Earth, the festival ethno and world-music "Solstice”, comes back again to Arkhangelsk after a long break.

Tobolsk Committee of culture and tourism together with the local and Tyumen diocese and with the active support of mass media of Tobolsk are conducting an action since 2011 to find and return the famous Abalaksky Icon, which was painted in 1637 by the Tobolsk icon painter Matvei Martynov and considered as a miraculous. The distinctive feature of the Abalaksky icon is the image of two forthcoming saints – Saint Nicolas and Mary from Egypt. There are also numerous lists (copies) made from the Abalaksky icon and much of them, in turn, became famous for miracles like the original.
More than 6 billion rubles will be directed by the Smolensk region for tourism and culture development till 2020.
The regional state program directed on cultural development and tourism during the period from 2014 to 2020 was approved by the authorities of the Smolensk region. "The total amount of the program financing will be 6, 5 billion rubles. 43,4 million will be allocated from the state budget, 5,1 billion - from the regional budget, 1,4 billion rubles will arrive from non-budgetary sources", according to the program signed by the Governor of the region Alexey Ostrovsky. The program includes ten different sections: from preservation of cultural heritage objects and archiving - to internal and inbound tourism development.

"The demand of Moscow to receive the XVII congress of FEG caused enthusiastic approval of all the Assembly of FEG", – the Chairman of federation Carlos Ortega Gutierrez declared.
Veliky Novgorod meets the first “Wedding train"
The special “Wedding train" starts it’s first trip on a route route from Moscow to Veliky Novgorod December 19th , arriving to the destination the next morning. This pilot project was introduced by the Russian Railway company lately. 16 just married couples, employees of various branches of State Russian Railway Company will become the first passengers of the train. It is planned to use "The wedding train" for newlyweds and couples wishing to celebrate unusually their anniversary.
Vologda’s tourist and recreation project will receive 90 million rubles from the state budget
The agreement on subsidy allocation from the state budget of 90 million rubles to realize tourist and recreational “Nason-gorod” (“the city of Nanson”) project in Vologda was signed last week in Moscow by the Head of Rostourism (Russian Tourist Committee) Alexander Radkov and the Governor of the Vologda region Oleg Kuvshinnikov.
The Russian Arctic will receive foreign tourists in 2014
A new route for foreign citizens, including visit of the Russian Arctic could start in 2014. As the Head of Federal Tourism Agency Alexander Radkov told in his presentation at the 3-rd International Forum "Arctic: the present and the future", which took place in St. Petersburg, a new tourist and forwarding route will pass between the archipelagoes of Spitsbergen and Franz Joseph Land. A starting point of travel in this case would be a Norwegian port where tourists would be transferred from the plane to the ship to deliver them to the Russian Arctic.

Arzhaan – are the sort of natural mineral and fresh water sources in Tuva with wonder-working forces attributed to them since ancient times. 7 nature sanctuaries, historic and cultural monuments of Kemerovo region will be united in "The Golden Ring of Kuzbass" during 2014 which was declared on Year of Culture in Russia. The deputy governor Elena Pakhomova submitted this project during the meeting of regional administration. She explained that the region decided to expand the list of actions celebrating 2014 as a Year of Culture and Tourism. One of them should be the creation of some open-air museums in several local areas which would help not only to keep natural, historic or cultural sanctuaries but also to attract tourists.
